the white lily

A single white water lily commands the canvas with quiet authority. Luminous petals — shaded in ivory, soft blue, and pale lavender — open fully against the dark, mirror-like surface of a pond alive with colour. Lily pads in warm russet and deep green float nearby, their reflections shimmering with amber, orange, and violet beneath the water's surface. Richly painted in the Impressionist tradition, this work captures a fleeting moment of natural perfection — light resting on water, beauty rising from stillness. A timeless image of peace and renewal.
